304 singers from 50 countries applied to take part in this year’s Competition. 40 singers from 21 countries have been invited to the preliminary rounds in Oslo.
”Lukáš Bařák will not appear on the singing double-recital on the 19th of June due to the offer of foreign production with several subsequent performances, but will be replaced by a talented soprano Zdislava Bočková, the only Czech finalist of the Operalia Plácido Domingo competition in 2019.”

Czech soprano Lada Bočková was since April 2017 a member of the Teatro Lirico Spoleto in Italy, where she made her debut as Frasquita (Carmen), Dorina (L’impressario delle Canarie), Violetta (La Traviata) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola) at Festival dei Due Mondi. In 2018 she debuted as Olga (Die lustige Witwe) at Teatro la Fenice in Venice and becomed a guest soloist of National Theatre Brno/CZ and National theatre Bratislava/SK where she recently performed as Despina (Così fan tutte). In 2019 she attended at two leading world opera competitions: Plácido Domingo’s Operalia and The Queen Sonja Competition in Norway.
Upcoming engagements including among others debut in Cinccinati Opera House in Ohio, National Theatre in Prague and concerts with Deutsche Radio Philharmonie in Germany.
